The Interactive Language Workshop
is built around the idea that we most effectively learn and retain a
second language when we use it for communication. Thus each module of
the Workshop teaches a core vocabulary with pictures,
sound
and the written word, and then culminates in an activity in which the
learner uses the new language to accomplish a communication-based task.
This "use it to learn it" approach is what makes the Workshop
both effective and fun to use.
With the Workshop your students will...
choose the big ears or small ears...
|
| The BodyBuilder module teaches body
and face vocabulary. The activities allow students to custom design the
face or
figure of a person or a monster. |
 |
 |
tell when the train leaves...
In the TimeTeller module, students respond to questions
about when events take place and when trains and buses arrive and
depart. Better answers
mean a bigger paycheck! |
find out who works in a bank...
Students learn as they are introduced to a family. Pictures and sound
make the vocabulary come alive.
In the MysteryFamily activity, student must ask family
members questions in order to guess their identities. |
 |
 |
put on the sweater...
The DressMe module teaches clothing and accessories.
Students control what the two DressMe characters will wear. |
...and find the hidden keys.
Students will use furniture vocabulary and prepositions of location in
the HouseKey module in order to find the hidden keys and
move through
the house. |
